Business Week 2026: Four days of ideas, connections, and real-world learning

business week team

From September 21 to 24, Arkansas State University Querétaro hosted the eighth edition of Business Week, an experience created by students for students that transformed the campus into a meeting point for ideas, professional experiences, and new ways of understanding the business world.

For four days, undergraduate students from various disciplines had the opportunity to step outside the typical classroom setting to listen, ask questions, participate, and learn directly from experienced professionals in areas such as business, entrepreneurship, innovation, marketing, technology, leadership, and professional development. More than just a series of lectures, Business Week aimed to create a space where each student could discover new perspectives on their future and gain insights applicable to their own projects, interests, and career decisions.

Learning from those who are already facing the challenges of the industry

Throughout the week, conferences and workshops introduced students to situations, decisions, and challenges that are part of today’s professional world. The topics covered spanned various sectors and disciplines: from leadership, sales, and business strategy to innovation, technology, international relations, logistics, decision-making, and new business development.

This diversity ensured that attendees weren’t limited to hearing just one perspective on their professional future. Each session offered a different viewpoint on how ideas become projects, how companies make decisions, and how professionals face real-world scenarios. In some workshops, the experience shifted from simply listening to actively participating. Interactive activities and practical exercises allowed students to apply concepts, ask questions, and connect what they learned to concrete situations.

An experience that was also built from the students’ perspective

Business Week at Arkansas State University Querétaro not only put students in front of professionals, but also placed them behind the scenes organizing the event. Student committees participated in areas such as marketing, social media, sponsorships, finance, and logistics, collaborating to coordinate activities, boost attendance, document events, and ensure the smooth running of each day.

This transformed the event into a two-tiered learning experience. While some students participated through conferences and workshops, others also faced the real-world challenges of producing a university event: coordinating teams, addressing needs, communicating, organizing resources, and reacting to real-time events.

Different paths, new possibilities

The professionals invited to A-State included individuals from industry, consulting, technology, communications, international relations, logistics, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship. Beyond their specific roles and career paths, their participation highlighted something particularly relevant for students: there is no single path to building a professional career.

Some stories emerged from large corporations; others, from personal projects. Some were driven by technology, others by operations, communication, international relations, or the creation of new business models.

For a student who is still figuring out what they want to do after college, coming into contact with these perspectives can become a way to discover new areas of interest, ask better questions, and understand more clearly what kind of challenges they would like to tackle in the future.

When learning continues outside the classroom

One of the main objectives of Business Week was precisely to bring students closer to professional experiences that complement what they learned in class. Hearing how a new idea is evaluated before investing in it, how decisions are made within an industrial operation, how a communication strategy is built, or how a logistics chain works allows them to grasp concepts that, in the classroom, can seem much more abstract.

It also opens up opportunities for networking and conversation with people who work daily in these sectors. This direct contact helps students understand that their university education doesn’t just happen among books, exams, and academic projects. It’s also built through conversations, connections, and experiences that allow them to closely observe the world they will eventually join.

Four days to expand what you imagine is possible

Business Week 2026 at Arkansas State University Querétaro brought together learning, participation and connection in one experience.

For four days, the campus became a space where students could explore industries, listen to different perspectives, and get closer to professionals who face some of the same challenges every day that they will begin to encounter as they develop their own careers.

business week beyond

Because choosing a degree is only part of the journey. It’s also important to discover what you can do with it, to learn about the possibilities beyond the classroom, and to start building the connections, skills, and experiences that can support you in what comes next.

Because the university experience you remember is shaped by the connections you build, the passions you pursue, and the communities you help create.
