A new structure, a new staff and a revamped roster mark the start of Red Wolves Football 2026.
On Friday, September 4th, Red Wolves Football officially presented its program for the 2026 season, bringing together student-athletes, coaches, and members of the Arkansas State University Querétaro community before the start of the ONEFA Liga Mayor.
The event took place at the Puertas de la Peña vineyard and marked the beginning of a new stage for the program, built on a strengthened structure, a new vision of work, and a commitment to raising the team’s preparation on and off the field.
As part of the presentation, Red Wolves Football unveiled its new competition uniform for the season, featuring the iconic red that defines the team’s identity. But while the new look marks a visible change, the program’s evolution extends far beyond the uniform.
A NEW STRUCTURE FOR RED WOLVES FOOTBALL
The 2026 season represents a new starting point for Red Wolves Football and the way the program seeks to develop in the long term.
As part of Athletics’ new vision, Football is beginning a phase focused on strengthening discipline, structure, values, preparation, and collaborative work as the foundation for building an increasingly competitive program.
The goal is for each area to contribute to the comprehensive development of the student-athletes and for the growth of the program to be supported by more solid processes within the field, in physical preparation and in the daily work of the team.
This new structure also seeks to generate greater internal competition and raise the standards of preparation of those who represent Red Wolves during the season.
By 2026, 30 new players had joined the program, increasing competition in various positions and becoming part of a group of 82 student-athletes.
Of these, 70 were selected to join the competitive roster, while another 12 will continue developing within the team’s structure. The new additions come from various regions of Mexico, particularly the north, as well as Texas and California. Different experiences and backgrounds now come together under a single structure and a single objective: to prepare, compete, and grow as a team.
A NEW STAFF FOR A NEW STAGE
The restructuring of Red Wolves Football is also reflected in its coaching staff.
For the 2026 season, Tadeo de la Garza assumes leadership of the program as Head Coach, accompanied by Alfredo Ravelo as Offensive Coordinator and René Gómez Luna as Defensive Coordinator.
The integration of the new staff seeks to strengthen coordination between the different areas of the team and establish a work methodology based on preparation, discipline, communication and collaboration.
With a larger roster and a new coaching structure, one of the main objectives will be to transform internal competition into improved on-field performance. “Growing in numbers isn’t enough. The challenge is to convert that internal competition into discipline, execution, and results. We want a team that can perform throughout all four quarters and stay in the playoff hunt,” De la Garza stated.
Strengthening the technical staff also complements the work done in physical preparation, equipment and training spaces, as part of a vision that seeks to support the development of the program beyond a single season.
A NEW STAGE BEGINS ON THE FIELD
The official Red Wolves Football 2026 presentation revealed much more than just the team’s new jerseys. It also showcased a new staff, 30 newly recruited players, a competitive roster of 70 student-athletes, and a new organizational structure as the program begins its journey toward the 2026 season.
The regular season will consist of eight games, four at home and four away. Red Wolves will begin their campaign on September 5th against the Lobos from Universidad Latina de México, with the goal of competing throughout the season and advancing to the postseason.
After months of preparation, new additions and a restructuring within the program, a stage begins built on discipline, preparation and teamwork.
The new staff is ready. The roster is set. The RED uniform has been unveiled. Now a new chapter begins for Red Wolves Football.
